Willy built an 8000sq ft home for us which is of the highest quality workmanship with attention to detail like I have never seen before. Even more important is that he is honest and possesses the highest level of integrity. He will keep you appraised of any issues that may arise and will patiently work you through them. We lived 2000 miles away during construction. It was a breeze. Despite a cost plus contract, Willy worked to keep our costs down and quality high. He is very well respected among his subs and is able to use the best available. He still follows through if we should have a problem. We feel very fortunate to have him as our contractor and builder. Miller Custom Homes built our 2- bedroom, 2-bath house in Crested Butte South. The project was an entirely positive experience from beginning to end. Willy, his core crew of Joe and Sean, and all of his subcontractors were pleasant to work with and brought in the project on schedule and on budget. The result is a house that we love.
A few specifics: Willy saved us several thousand dollars by suggesting that, in view of the scope of our project, we could hire a designer instead of an architect. Shannon Rennick of Alpine Dwelling produced plans promptly and for a reasonable fee. Willy has a great design sense himself, and made suggestions throughout the project that helped us make the most of both our lot and our construction budget. We were not on-site for most of the project. Willy was diligent about keeping us informed with frequent photos and reports. Willy supported my interest in making the cabinets, bedroom built-ins, and stair parts. He diplomatically steered me away from trying to make things that could delay the project. As a woodworker, I particularly recognized and appreciated the craftsmanship in the finish carpentry and the installation of the cabinets that I made. Thanks, Joe.
